“The misfortune of the millonaire”

Once upon a time, there was a rich and succesful guy called Vinziano in Italy. He was at the top of the world. He was the owner and boss of Omega Enterprises™, the company that manufactured all the new technology in the world. His fortune was above all the US and European Union´s money together.

One day, Vinziano went to Switzerland to a business meeting with some of his employees. While he was in that country, he slept in one of his houses in the outskirts of Berna. His mansion was pretty, enormous and ostentatious. Even he was the richest man in the world, and he could have whatever he wanted, he was really lonely and sad.

When he was in the mansion he tought of what he can do to feel some company for a while, but for someone like him it was very dangerous to go alone to the street and even more to “common places”. He told to his bodyguards to stay in the mansion while he went to a poor bar of Berna dressed up as someone common. He looked up the bar called “The house of evil” and he decided to enter and see what was going on. Then he opened the door and there it is.

Now being inside the bar, he started watching around. He was kind of scared because that environment was totally new for him. He got closer to a table and he ordered a whisky. He was shy and alone watching to all places. A moment later a woman came to him, and greeted him, telling: “I´m Ruby”. She was pretty, blonde, eye-colored, and amazingly sexy. Vinziano was surprised of finding a so refined woman in that horrible place, and they started talking.

Ruby wasn´t stupid and rapidly recognized Vinziano. She started to get his trust and some moments later, they were already in Vinziano´s house having some “fun”. Ruby achieved her goal of making him fall in love and erase all his emptiness and loneliness. The months passed and they started living together as a couple, but when a year passed Ruby already had all the secrets and Vinziano and the codes of Omega Enterprises™ and she robbed everything letting Vinziano totally poor.

The Journal

Once upon a time there was a little family made just of a dad a mom and a small daughter called Susie. The mother and the father didn’t had a family anymore so they only had each other. Even so the family was very happy. Susie was 6 years old, and all the weekends they used to go to the park and eat ice cream. Everything was great, or at least it seemed like it.

One day the mother got very ill. They diagnosed cancer and that she had no cure. She was hospitalized and she started getting weaker and weaker. Susie and her dad will not leave the hospital. Susie would cry every day and told her mom to get well soon so they would go to the park like before. Susie made her mother to promise that she will wet better. A few days latter her mother died. On the funeral all the friends where there, everybody was sad and crying except Susie. She didn’t even shed a tear, she only saw everybody around her crying and depressed.

Days, weeks, months passed.5 years had passed since the death of susie’s mother. Her dad was dating one of the richest ladies of the city. She was called Janette Smith. You could tell that they where deeply in love and that Janette loved Susie. Although Susie had never tried to communicate nor tried to get to know Jeanette. Susie sense the dead of her mother had not smiled and didn’t had many friends. She was introverted and didn’t showed her feelings

Siusi's dad and Jeannette got married. and they moved to the mansion of Jeannette’s family. Susie got to a new school and had a different live compared to the one she had before. Susie’s birthday was getting closer and Jeannette was planning a party for her. She starts getting all the things that Susie likes. A few days before the party Jeannette was missing the gift that she will give her on the party. She strats to peek on Susie to see what things do she really want.

One day while Susie was at school Jeannette went into Susie’s room. She starts to look around things. she got desperate and jumped to bed to get a little thinking. She was looking at the roof and when she turned her head to the pillow she noticed a little pink and cute notebook with a cute little doll picture on the cover. She took it and opened it. in the first page it said Susie’s journal. She kept going until she got to the day when they got married. Jeannette got curious and started to read. A few minutes later she closed the notebook and started to cry. She left the notebook like it was before she took it and left the room.

My story

Once upon a time there was a little girl named Sarah, she lived with her family and was very happy. She was very beautiful although she was just 5 years old. Her family was poor but they live happy and they were very kind with all the people. They live in the forest in a little cabin, in the forest there was a big meadow full of flowers. Sarah always thought that place was magical and special. Her parents and her use to went there everyday. They play with little Sarah, until it was night.

One day the father of little Sarah get fired if his job, they can't pay the cabin where they were living so they had to move to another place. Sarah was very depressed, she was leaving her meadow and the cabin that she loved, but her parents can't so anything about it. They moved to the city because they thought they were going to have more opportunities in there than in another town. The things were complicated after they moved.

Dad of little Sarah can't find a good job. He was angry all the time and Sarah's mom was very depressed. Years pass, the family they were disappeared, Sarah's mom was depressed and angry all the time, and she take it out with Sarah, she argue with Sarah all the time. She get sick one day and died. Sarah's dad was angry all the time and tired because the only job he find was about working all day. Sarah become a beautiful 12-year-old girl, always wishing to get back in time to her meadow where she lived so happy.

One day a man arrived to their house to give them big news "I came from the town you use to live, they have a big job for you Sr. If you want it just call" and with that he leave. Sarah's dad went directly to Sarah and said "I received an opportunity of a better job in this city and an opportunity of a job in our old town, what do you think it's better?" Sarah was happy for the first time in a lot of time "Our town!" we can come back and live there, we'll be as happy as we were before" she said with a big smile in her face. "I don't think so Sarah" said her father. "Why?" said Sarah. "An opportunity in a city is so much better than a job in a town Sarah" he said like it was the most obvious thing in the world, it was, but Sarah was not happy about it.

Years pass again, Sarah was sad all the time, she almost didn't see her father, she was always alone. One day when Sarah was sixteen her father get sick. She was so scared, she didn't want him to died liker her mom. Sarah's dad get worst with the time, he can't left bed, the day he died his last words were "Sarah, my little one, I'm so sorry I didn't hear you, If we moved to the town, I wouldn't be sick, be happy Sarah, you'll never be alone.. remember that... remember the meadow" And with that he died.

Sarah was alone and sad as she never was before. She moved to her old town. One she was in the town she get a job and buy a little cabin near the forest. One day she decided to visit her meadow. She walk and walk until she find it, it was as beautiful as always, she feel like a 5 year old again as she jump and laugh and play with the flowers, so happy she returned. She lie down and fall asleep in the meadow. She dream with her parents, they were happy that she was happy. She wake up and remembered when her dad said that she was never alone. Sarah smile because she know it was true, they'll live forever in their meadow as happy as they were when she was just a little girl. She smiled.

How to housetrain your dog

1-If you have pets you will know how hard it is for you to take care of them. A way to have a better control and care of your pet is to train them. You don’t need to hire somebody specialized to train your puppy. Training your puppy is actually very easy. You just need to follow some steps to make your pet obey you.

2-First of all you to gather some small treats for your puppy .First, star ordering your dog simple tasks like sit, still, come. When you ask your puppy to sit put him in the position of sitting. Keep on doing these until he gets the idea. When he starts to obey every once in a while, give him/her a treat and say good job or a farce of approval.try to make these a routine, it will be easier.

3-Your dog will start to do as you say for the treats. Then put a lash or a collar to him, to teach him how to stay. Take him/her for a walk some times a day. Start to order him to stay. Don’t get frustrated and pull his lash right away. Have patience and just stop when you give the order and your dog will stop with you. When he does these again, give him/her a treat and a sign of approval.

4-Keep doing these every day. keep adding new tricks like, go fetch or fake dead. It’s the same routine for all of them. You just need to have patience and give your puppy a lot of love. Soon your puppy will obey you in anything.

It is obvious that if we have a dog in our house we have to train him. Training the dog is part of all the responsibilities we gain when we decided have a dog for pet. Training should be an enjoyable experience that we can have with our dog, we can make it fun, and make the dog feel good with the train and motivated. There are a lot of techniques to train a dog. We must NEVER hit a dog, that's a rule, we have to be patient. The easily of training a dog depends in the age and in the kind of dog we have. Is more easy to train a puppy than an adult dog. There are 4 general steps we can follow to housetrain a dog.

The FIRST step the trainers suggest to housetrain a puppy is make him sleep near the bedrooms area to not make him feel alone or rejected. Also the dogs never do their stuff where they sleep or near. The puppies generally do their "things" every three hours, so to make it more easy we can lead him to the place out doors or in doors we want him to do it. The SECOND step is to try to lead him for the same way always to make him take the idea that that's the way he have to follow. When we lead the dog he don't have to run, because if we run he will not be able to see what way to take or where to go, so we have to walk and make it slowly.

The THIRD step is to try to make it a routine. Take him out at the same times each day, with that we establish the routine. The dig will soon know how to hold it until we take him out. The FOURTH step is that if the dog still is making his things inside the house we have to look for clues that tell you he needs to go and wait to see what does he do. If we catch our dog doing his things inside (and only if we catch him -  not after we discover he's already committed the crime), rush over and stop him by gasping his collar, pulling up on it, and saying, "NO" in a deep, stern voice. Then take him outside to let him finish up and praise him with pats on the head and say "Good (Insert name of dog here)!" when he does.

The housetrain an adult dog is different than to housetrain a puppy. The cause the adult dog is not trained may be medical, hormonal, manage-mental, or behavioral. If the veterinarian can't find anything physically wrong with our dog, the problem probably has something to do with mismanagement or the dog's emotion, so all we can do is watch him when he do his things. If he make it when he's alone try to not let him alone a lot of time and to make sure of get him put to do his stuff before we left. The dog can have those accidents of not do where he has because he's upset or with storms. There are other less common reasons for our dog to soil in the house - including submissive urination and urine-marking. Both behaviors are normal dog behaviors but they are unacceptable to most owners. Submissive urination involves the dog squatting or rolling on his back and urinating out of deference and respect. The behavior is designed to demonstrate submission to an alpha dog. Sometimes urination in the house can occur as a sign of nervousness and excitement. Urine-marking, on the other hand, is an expression of the dog's need to claim his terrirory when he feels in a competition with other dog or person. My conclusion is that all dogs can be trained we just need to be patient, and make him feel good about it :)

There is a problem every student has to fight with, the homework. Sometimes watched as the worse thing about school, for others a really unnecesary work that you HAVE to do, others just see it as a duty. But for everyone there would be things that can be easier than another, in the homework is the same, some people like to do some math problems instead of a frustrating essay; and others would see it completely different. But for everyone the main problem is the distraction, even with they have the mind cleared and there are some things that you can do to be more focus in your work.

The first thing that you have to have in your mind is that the homework is a must, and if you start it early you will finnish it earlier. When you have that in your mind, is easier to start (but not in all the cases, for example me, I hate to do homework every time, and i always save it to the last minute...). The next thing you need to do is clear your mind, and set the equipment that you need to finnish the homework.

Then when you have your mind cleared to do your homework, you need to get rid of all the distractions, the messenger, the TV, the music, etc. That is not always necessary, but help the work to be easier to do (for example I have already spent many hours in this essay cause multiple distractions), when you got rid of all the distractions the remain is very easy, just work, you know, you don't have anything else more important to do (we both know that there are like thousands of things more important to do that this essay), the thing is that you need to have in your mind that is important. Even if you know that is not.

Before you noticed it, you have already finnished your homeork... All right no, you would probably be desperate until you finnish but, that is not the point, you WILL complete it. Everybody has to do homework, and is better to have a joke or serius mentally about that, because if you don't you can stuck yourself that is a torture and it would always be, you have to do homework all your life, so face it with a cool face :) and clear your mind n__n.

Is ethical decision making possible when one must make choices based on survival? Do seemingly “bad”
choices make a person bad?
Making bad choices doesn’t make a person bad. Sometimes you make choices without thinking of the consequences. You don’t think in hurting some one you just think in surviving, you just take the firsy option you see is better.

Greed, corruption and the misuse of power are highlighted in the film through a variety of characters. How are those who have money and power glamorized in this film? What happens to the victims?

The charecters with money are pictures in the film like corrupted people or like gangsters .the victims are innocent people like children and hardworking people that by accident got in their way and get killed or threatened.

Describe how loss, chance, luck, suffering, and street smarts are also characters behind the scenes. The film explores gain and loss side by side. Triumphs are tempered with loss. Where do you see this evident?
Since the beginning of the film you see that they have to work hard for them to get what they want. Jamal having to fight with his brother, but al through that at the end he gets everything he wishes for.

2. Early in the film we see the young Jamal dive into a latrine pit to steal a glimpse at a visiting movie star. How does his single-mindedness to see this movie star reveal his determination? What other examples do you see in the film of his determination?

It’s determination to see the movie star show that when he want something he go fot it with all he can do, that he don’t quit, he look for other ways to get what he want and don’t let obstacles stop him.

We see more of his determination in all the movie, because all he want is to be with Latika to find her and he made all he can to do it and when he finds her, he’s not leting anyone take her from him.

 

7. In one exchange of dialogue in the film during the interrogation of Jamal, the police inspector discuss the impossibility of what Jamal knows.

Police Inspector: Doctors… Lawyers… never get pass 60 thousand rupees. He’s on 6 million [pause]

Police Inspector: What can our slumdog possibly know?

Jamal Malik: [quietly] The answers.

Discuss the irony in the film that Jamal “knows too much” and is suspected of cheating. Discuss the irony that in the end, his poverty may make him rich. What point is the film making? What is real weath?

The irony of the film is that he didn’t need to study or be super intelligent to know all the answers because with all the experiences he has in his life he know everything he needed. And the point that film is doing is that experiences in our daily lives teach us more than school.

 

10. In one pivotal scene, the show’s host tells Jamal his own story about coming from the slums. He then gives Jamal the wrong answer writen on the mirror in the rest room. Why did he give Jamal the wrong answer? What did Jamal do?

I think that the host gives Jamal the wrong answer because he didn’t want him to be rich or famous like him, or because he suspect he’s cheating and give Jamal the wrong answer to know if he answer that and no the correct one.

Jamal answer another I think it was because with all he has learned in his life, he know he can’t trust anybody and with that he proved it.
