In the film, the theme of destiny is a central theme. What does it mean that all Jamal desires is just out of his reach? (The prized autograph, Latika, his brother, the answers, etc.) I think that Jamal is a very persistent person because for example in all the movie he fighted for the love of Latika since he was a child. Most of the time people always gives up when they are rejected or they can´t achieve what they want, but persistent people always fight even for years to get what they want. He always risked for getting the right answers even he don´t know them only for reaching his dreams. He has a lot of courage.
The game show format brings into to focus the culture of meaningless competition. What does the spectacle of the game say about what people value today? What values does the media promote? Are they humanizing values? I think that the values of the people of today and the mass media is always looking for their own good, and they sell us the ideas that they want, even they can damage other people or things like that. Media always sell what “we want to see“ that´s the reason because competition is meaningless and what we see is always regulated by the interests of them.
The chaos and the constant noise and motion of Mumbai at the center of the film, (supported by a fabulous soundtrack) are contrasted with a deeper silent seeking. Describe what each of the main characters is seeking. Jamal is seeking for reaching his dreams, being with Latika, being reach and being happy at least. Latika is seeking for stop her disgrace and being happy, stop being abused by people, etc. The brother seeks for his own good and is selfish and don´t thinks in his loved people before acting.
